National Senior Health and Fitness Day, observed on May 31, 2023, encourages older adults to engage in physical activity, with various events held across the U.S. to promote health and fitness among seniors. A survey conducted by OnePoll on behalf of ICAA revealed that the primary motivations for seniors to exercise include improving physical health (63%), boosting mental health (59%), and enhancing overall well-being (58%). Other reasons cited were to stay independent (49%), spend time with friends (37%), and enjoy the outdoors (36%). The survey also highlighted that seniors who exercise regularly tend to feel happier and more fulfilled, underscoring the importance of staying active in later years.
