The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) plans to reopen the St. Johns River Ferry on Friday, June 13, following an incident on Sunday, May 4

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) is set to resume its St. Johns River Ferry service on Thursday, following a suspension due to mechanical issues with the ferry's docking system. The service, which connects downtown Jacksonville to the Beaches area, was halted on October 17 after the problem was discovered during routine maintenance. JTA has since repaired the issue and conducted successful test runs to ensure the ferry's safe operation. The ferry will operate on its regular schedule, running every 30 minutes from 6 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. on weekdays, and from 7:30 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. on weekends. JTA apologizes for any inconvenience caused and thanks the public for their patience during the repair process.
