Euston Tower To Get Radical New Look

It's not the daintiest of landmarks, but the Euston Tower has a certain robust charm about it. Completed in 1970, the mirror-glass International-style tower dominates the skyline beside Warren Street Tube. It could soon look very different.

The Euston Tower, a prominent feature of London's skyline since its construction in the 1970s, is set for a significant transformation. British Land, the property developer, has unveiled plans to revamp the 36-story office block, which includes reducing its height by 10 stories and adding a new 22-story structure. This redevelopment aims to modernize the building, making it more energy-efficient and appealing to contemporary businesses. The project will also introduce new public spaces, including a pocket park, and enhance the area's connectivity with new pedestrian routes. The redesign seeks to address the building's outdated aesthetics and functionality, aligning it with current architectural trends and sustainability goals. The plans are currently under review by Camden Council, with public consultation ongoing to gather feedback on the proposed changes.
