Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister Professor Blade Nzimande is set to lead South Africa's delegation to the Second Ministerial Belt and Road Science and Technology Conference in China next week.

South Africa is set to participate in the Ministerial Belt and Road Science and Technology Conference in Chongqing, China, from November 6-8, 2023, as announced by the Department of Science and Innovation. The conference, themed "Building an Open and Inclusive Innovation Community for Global Development," aims to foster collaboration in science and technology among Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries. South Africa's delegation, led by Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Dr Blade Nzimande, will engage in discussions to enhance scientific and technological cooperation, share knowledge, and explore opportunities for joint research and development projects. This participation underscores South Africa's commitment to the BRI and its goal to advance global development through innovation and technology.
