  • Just months after President Trump won a landslide in Florida's largest Venezuelan enclave, a new FIU survey obtained by WLRN shows that enthusiasm has eroded significantly among the state's Venezuelans.

A recent poll conducted by Florida International University (FIU) and commissioned by WLRN and Univision 23, reveals that a significant majority of Venezuelan immigrants in Florida support former President Donald Trump in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. The survey, which included 1,600 Venezuelan respondents, found that 61% favor Trump, while only 31% support President Joe Biden. This strong backing is attributed to Trump's hardline stance on immigration and his criticism of socialist regimes, resonating with Venezuelans who fled their country's economic and political crises. The poll also highlighted that economic issues and concerns about socialism are top priorities for these voters, influencing their political preferences.
