Major take-private of Endeavor by Silver Lake finalized

Silver Lake has said the deal is "the largest private equity sponsor public-to-private investment ... in over a decade."

Silver Lake, a private equity firm, has completed its acquisition of Endeavor Group Holdings Inc., taking the company private in a deal valued at $13 billion. This transaction, which was first announced in April, saw Endeavor shareholders receiving $27.50 per share in cash. Endeavor, known for its talent and media representation through its ownership of the William Morris Endeavor (WME) agency, as well as its involvement in sports and entertainment through properties like the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and Professional Bull Riders (PBR), will now operate outside of public market scrutiny. The move to go private is expected to provide Endeavor with greater flexibility to pursue long-term strategies without the pressure of quarterly earnings reports. Silver Lake, which has been a significant investor in Endeavor since 2012, will now have full control over the company's strategic direction.
