WASECA COUNTY, MN - February 5th, 2026 - The Job and Workforce Partnership (JWP) is poised to significantly impact the future of agriculture in the region with the launch of a comprehensive suite of agricultural training courses beginning this month. This initiative comes at a crucial time, as the agricultural sector grapples with a widening skills gap and a dwindling workforce - challenges threatening its continued growth and sustainability.

The new courses, announced today, will focus on three key areas: precision agriculture, agricultural technology, and farm management. These aren't just introductory classes; JWP aims to provide deeply practical, hands-on training designed to equip participants with immediately applicable skills sought by employers. Precision agriculture, a rapidly evolving field, will cover topics like GPS-guided machinery, drone-based crop monitoring, variable rate application of fertilizers and pesticides, and data analytics for improved yields and resource management. Agricultural technology will delve into the increasingly sophisticated machinery, sensors, and automation systems used in modern farming, including robotics, irrigation control systems, and livestock monitoring technologies.
