India Issuing Visas To Bangladeshis In Limited Manner For Medical Emergencies: MEA

  • Bangladesh has been under boil ever since Sheikh Hasina was forced to leave the country as a result of a military coup in wake of anti-government protest over a controversial bill.

India is issuing visas to Bangladeshi nationals in a limited manner, primarily for medical emergencies, as stated by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Arindam Bagchi during a weekly media briefing. This decision comes in the context of the ongoing COVID-19 situation, where India has been cautious about its visa policies. Bagchi mentioned that while the focus is on medical emergencies, other compelling reasons for travel are also considered on a case-by-case basis. This approach reflects India's effort to balance humanitarian needs with the necessity of controlling the spread of the virus.
