Pensacola High Dominates Soccer and Weightlifting

Pensacola, FL - January 22nd, 2026 - The Pensacola area's high school athletic scene was ablaze with competition on Thursday, January 22nd, 2026, as district soccer tournaments and a weightlifting meet concluded. Pensacola High School emerged as a dominant force in both soccer and weightlifting, while other area teams battled for a place in the championship games.

Washington and West Florida are now set to battle for the district title.

Weightlifting Meet: Pensacola High Claims Top Honors

The District 1-3A Weightlifting Meet saw Pensacola High School take the overall team title with a commanding 75 points. Washington secured second place with 68 points, while Pace finished third with 55 points. The meet highlighted the exceptional strength and dedication of individual athletes across various weight classes.

Here's a breakdown of the individual results:

  • 132 lb: Caleb Jones of Pensacola High claimed the top spot with a lift of 230 lbs, narrowly edging out Ethan Smith of Washington (220 lbs).
  • 144 lb: Jackson Lee from Pace demonstrated impressive strength, lifting 245 lbs, followed closely by Michael Brown of Pensacola High (235 lbs).
  • 154 lb: David Green of Washington showcased his power with a 260 lb lift, beating out Brandon White of Pace (250 lbs).
  • 165 lb: Noah Hill of Pensacola High dominated the class, lifting a remarkable 275 lbs, with Andrew King of Washington (265 lbs) placing second.
  • 183 lb: Samuel Adams of Pace emerged victorious with a lift of 290 lbs, just ahead of Tyler Gray from Pensacola High (280 lbs).
