The Baltimore Orioles have signed Japanese pitcher Tomoyuki Sugano to a minor league contract, with an invitation to spring training. Sugano, who has been a prominent figure in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for over a decade, has a notable record with the Yomiuri Giants, where he achieved a 109-57 record with a 2.98 ERA. His signing comes after a period of recovery from elbow surgery in 2022, which limited his performance in the following year. Despite this, Sugano's experience and skill set, including a fastball in the low 90s and a variety of off-speed pitches, make him an intriguing addition to the Orioles' roster.
