Fordham University Receives A Record $100 Million Gift

Fordham University has received a historic $100 million donation from the estate of alumnus and former trustee, the late William J. Loschert, marking the largest single gift in the university's history. This substantial endowment will be used to establish the William J. Loschert Scholarship Fund, aimed at providing financial aid to undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need. The gift is part of Fordham's ongoing $1 billion fundraising campaign, which has now surpassed $700 million. Loschert, who passed away in 2023, was a 1958 graduate of Fordham College at Rose Hill and had a long-standing commitment to the university, having served on its Board of Trustees for 25 years. This donation not only underscores his dedication to Fordham but also significantly enhances the university's capacity to support its students financially.
